Answers:
  1. Outgoing: Properly completed and funded requests for outgoing wires received by 2:00 pm will be processed the same day. Wire requests received after 2:00 pm will be processed the next business day.
    Incoming: Wires received prior to 4:15 pm will be processed the same day. Wires received after 4:15 pm will be processed the next business day.
  2. No. Merchants Bank is not a member of the SWIFT system. Merchant Bank works with correspondent banks that are members of the SWIFT system in order to send and receive international wires.

  3. Domestic wires—The originating bank should use the information in the table below.
    International wires—The originating bank outside the U.S. selects a correspondent bank in the U.S. who will then forward the funds to Merchants Bank. The information in the table below must be included with the original wire instructions:
    Beneficiary Bank ABA #: 011600020
    Beneficiary Bank: Merchants Bank, South Burlington, VT
    Beneficiary Account Number: Merchants customer’s account # to be credited
    Beneficiary Name and Address: Account name and address as it appears on the Merchants Bank statement

  4. Please visit your local Merchants Bank branch to initiate outgoing wires. The following information will be needed:
    • For a domestic wire, please provide:
      Beneficiary Bank name, ABA # for wire processing and bank address
      Beneficiary name, address, and account number
    • For an international wire, please provide:
      Beneficiary Bank name and address
      Beneficiary Bank SWIFT code
      Beneficiary name, address and account number
      Beneficiary IBAN number, if applicable
      Correspondent Bank, if available
