MaxLend is a direct lender founded in 2012 and based in Parshall, ND. It operates under Makes Cents Inc. The lender offers services in 38 states.
The company is owned by the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nation, the three affiliated tribes of the Fort Berthold Reservation. Thus, MaxLend operates as a tribal-based lender, not a state-regulated one. Therefore, does not have a state license and is not governed by the state.
In many states, a tribal lender could be your only way out to get a short-term loan.
MaxLend offers personal loans only (installment loans). Such loans are typically used for urgent major purchases, home improvement, car repair, weddings, medical expenses, travel, or similar purposes. You can borrow between $100 and $3,000. However, if you are a first-time borrower, you cannot get more than $1,500. The repayment period for an installment loan can be several months or more than 1 year.
Keep in mind that this lender charges very high interest rates. A tribal installment loan can really be expensive.
MaxLend does not charge a loan origination fee for their personal loans.
APR ranges from 472% to 841% depending on the loan term.
The more you borrow, the longer it might take to repay. And the longer your loan term, the more you will pay in interest.
To apply for a loan online, you’ll need to fill out an online application on their website. You can also apply by calling at 877-936-433.
When applying, you will need to provide the following details:
When approved, you will be able to get the funds via ACH the same business day on condition the application and approval take place before 11:45 AM EST. In cases where you apply after 11:45 AM EST, you should get funds on the next business day.
To get approved for a MaxLend personal loan, you must comply with the following requirements:
You can repay your MaxLend loan in 3 ways:
The lender will provide you with a Payment Due Dates which generally correspond with your pay dates.
Each loan that is repaid in full in a timely matter counts as you progress in MaxLend Preferred Rewards.
Yes. You can repay your personal loan in full at any time without penalty. This means you will not have to pay additional fees if you decide to repay your loan early and save on interest.
Yes. Most MaxLend customers are people with no credit or bad credit. However, borrowers with bad credit may qualify for shorter loan periods, smaller amounts and higher rates.
No. The lender does not have a mobile app, which may cause some inconvenience. If you are an active mobile user, we recommend that you search for other lenders that have a mobile app.
The lender operates in the following states: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Washington, DC, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
It does not operate in these states: Arkansas, Connecticut, Georgia, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, and West Virginia.
MaxLend loans should only be used as a last resort — it’s a very expensive way to get fast cash. An installment loan may seem a safer option than taking a title loan, but its APRs are very high. If you delay payments, your loan can become even more expensive. So before you apply for a loan with this tribal lender, explore other options that might be more beneficial to you.
Great customer service! Easy to work with. I knew that the loan was expensive from the start. Maxlend really helped me when I needed cash urgently. I would highly recommend this company! I would use them again.
Rip off!!! I paid over $2000 for a $1200 loan after 4 months of payments already and they say I still owe another $1500 in order to repay the loan… DO NOT USE THEM!!!!!!
The rates are much higher than listed on the website. I paid over $1400 for a $1000 loan that was repaid after 1 month. Worst lending company taking advantage of people in need!!!
They change too much interest!!!! I borrowed $1200 and in 2 weeks paying them back in full of $1390. That’s $200 in interest! Just imagine who much you will be paying them back after 6 months!!! NEVER DEAL WITH THEM!
Please feel free to contact us. We will get back to you with 1-2 business days.
